"A New Approach to the Brooch!"

Cocktails and Caviar was honored to be asked back to participate in Kappa Kappa Gamma's Tablescapes event, at Brookhollow Golf Club this year. This event gathers local designers and businesses to design amazing tablescapes and in turn, benefits several local charities, such as Children's Medical Center SAFE Unit, Dallas Children's Advocacy Center, Jeffries Street, New Friends New Life and Trinity River Mission.

This year's table was titled, "A New Approach to the Brooch!" This was Cocktails and Caviar's 6th year to design a table and we always try to think outside of the box. So, Designer and Creative Director, Cory Morrison and Floral Director, Jaye Dargan wanted to incorporate their new found love of vintage flower brooches into this year's table. With over four-hundred vintage brooches and earrings, we created a stunning display that received rave reviews!

Cocktails and Caviar to be Featured in D Weddings' Spring 07 Issue.

Cocktails and Caviar was selected by D Weddings to design two tables that will be featured in the up coming Spring 07 issue. Creative Director, Cory Morrison was asked to design two tables with a common theme. One that would transcend from a "bridal luncheon" into an elegant "evening reception" table.

Having completed a very successful colaboration with Neiman Marcus on the Kappa Kappa Gamma Tablescapes, Cory decided to team with the Fort Worth Bridal Registry's Gabrielle Ryan, to create two more stunning tables. "When I think of Spring, I think of Butterflies and breathtaking displays of color.", says Morrison.

Anna Weatherley's "Springtime in Budapest" was selected for the lunch table. "This pattern has a sophisticated whimiscal quality...", Morrison continues. From there, he was to select a color palette and choose the perfect linen combination. "I like to incorporate an unexpected accent color to add punch to the table." Turquoise was the accent color Morrison selected which can be found in the custom painted chivar chairs and the sugar paste butterflies on the wonderfully whimsical cake designed by Laurn of Fancy Cake by Lauren. Floral Director, Jaye Dargan, completes the sophisticated yet whimsical feeling of this table by selecting a collection of flowers that appear to be plucked from the garden just before the guests arrive.

For an elegant evening approach that kept to Morrison's butterly motif, he "brought the color palette a step higher with the fabric choices", selected from Mosaic and BBJ Linens. Cornsilk yellow bengaline fabric was topped off by a pale pink silk pintuck, then accented with a canary yellow crystal drop.

An impressive floral arrangement holds true to pink and yellow color palette. The addition of preserved Blue Morphia butterflies, direct from Austrailia, echo the Versace Butterfly china Morrison selected for this table. This formal design is for the bride "looking for something traditional yet a little daring... a little outside of the box." Morrison says.

Cory was given creative license to choose the setting in which the table would be photographed. Hotel Crescent Court was the perfect location for both the luncheon and the reception.

Kappa Kappa Gamma Tablescapes, 2006... Better than Ever!

Cocktails and Caviar Creative Director, Cory Morrison and Floral Director, Jaye Dargan created an incredible table this year! "Outrageous Elegance" was the theme, inspired by Versace's "Hot Flowers" fine china, provided by Nieman Marcus Bridal Registry, Fort Worth. "The minute I laid eyes upon the Versace pattern, I knew we had to take the table to the next level... The colors, the zebra print, the flowers... It was begging to be brought to life", says Morrison.

Varga and Saint Louis crystal, also provided by Nieman Marcus, added complimented the exquisite china. Lime green raw silk topped with cobalt blue raw silk, accented by amber crystal drops. Custom finished light turquoise chivari chairs accented with custom zebra cushions. An hierloom silver candelabra adorned with a massive display of orange, yellow and hot pink flowers. All of which might seem over the top. But not for this Versace! It was simply perfect.

The final touch that put the table over the top were the stunning custom designed, two tiered mini cakes created by Fancy Cakes by Lauren, located 11111D North Central Expressway, Dallas, Texas. The eight lucky ladies that were selected to dine at the table, were fortunate enough to walk away with one of the delicous works of art!

The turn out this year was much larger than last, and in turn more money was raised for all of the very deserving charities that benefit from this event each year. Congratulations to the Kappa Gals!
